Expertise

Cyrille de Gunzburg's primary area of expertise lies in the great era of Modernism, from the late 19th century to and beyond abstraction; from Impressionism to Fauvism; Cubism and Ecole de Paris; Dada to Surrealism; and Abstract Modernism to the post-war Paris School.

In addition, there are a number of individual artists in whose work we have built special expertise, including Edouard Vuillard, Pierre Bonnard, Pablo Picasso and the sculpture of Camille Claudel. We also specialise in the works of such artists as Jean Dubuffet, Nicolas de Staël, Serge Poliakoff and Jean Degottex, four of the finest artists of the Paris School of the 1950s.

Furthermore, having a background in Old Master paintings, we handle a number of such works every year, which form a small but significant part of our business.
