About us
Member of Comité Professionnel des Galeries d'Art and Chambre Européenne des Experts-Conseils en Œuvres d'Art
Cyrille de Gunzburg was established in Paris in 1987 and specialises in works by influential artists, from Impressionism to the 21st century. Most of the works that we handle come directly from private collections. Our price range spans the whole market, from works worth under 5,000 euros to works worth in excess of one million euros. Our clients range from the occasional amateur to major collectors and institutions worldwide. In order to return the highest price to our sellers, yet ask a reasonable price from our buyers, we mainly handle privately-owned works on a consignment basis and charge a small commission, rather than buying the work outright and thereby having to make the larger profit that would then be necessary.
Our aim is to make the process of buying and selling works of art as simple and discreet as possible. Clients wishing to avoid the hurly-burly and the public exposure of auction houses and traditional galleries will appreciate the discretion and sound advice provided by Cyrille de Gunzburg.
For over fifteen years, we have endeavoured to show that one can form a collection of works by major artists without spending enormous sums. By choosing a first-rate drawing over a secondary painting or preferring a lesser-known period in the artist's work, but always with quality and significance in mind, an acquisition will be more satisfactory, as an investment as well as aesthetically and historically.
In addition, we offer a full range of art advisory services to both buyers and sellers:
•
Advice on starting and curating a collection
• Informed advice about the art market
• Restoration, conservation and framing
• Insurance, packing and shipping
• Importing and exporting works of art.
We work with a range of internationally reputed firms in order to ensure that these issues are handled as seamlessly as possible.
